cheri do not get a cab from heathrow airport they charge EXTORTIONATE prices. all the terminals are linked to the london underground system (the tube), on the tube you can get to every corner of london , buy a one day all zones travelcard for around 7-8 pounds and you can get anywhere all day on the system.the ticket offices at the station will advise to the best deal, and if you ask nicely they will give you a detailed print out to follow to your destination.also the majority of the uniformed staff on the station platforms are very knowledgeable and helpful, the tube can be a bit confusing but read all signs carefully and you should not have too many problems,it is also quite an adventure working it all out!!!
well done mark (the phantom) for the kind gesture of a lift to/from the stables, for cheri and friend, its great that we can all help our overseas visitors out,and i know from experience how much Steve Harley appreciates the help we give to fellow fans.
xx
all the best,

Phantom! Long time no see. :) I will kindly take you up on your offer of a ride to and from The Stables. Thank you so very, very much. We will be staying at a hotel in Newport Pagnell called "The Swan Revived", a revamped 15th century coach house. I'm sorry I do not have the telephone number. The address is:

The Swan Revived
High Street
Newport Pagnell
Buckinghamshire
MK16 8AR

Rachel told us to be at The Stables at 7'ish. I believe that the distance from Newport Pagnell to Milton Keynes is approximately 5 miles. My friend and I will be put on a guest list and after the show will be escorted back to meet Steve himself!! So exciting! :D I don't know how long that will take, but I imagine Steve will be exhausted from his set and the series of sets before that. Perhaps you will be allowed back with us, I don't know. Are you sure you want to wait? I'm so glad you are finally getting to see the show there; as I remember, you drove Ana to the venue then had to sit in your car during the performance, didn't you? This way we can all sit together and enjoy the show! :D

Please give me your e-mail address and phone number here on the forum, or if you would like, you can e-mail me the information at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. :) When we get to the hotel I will call you and let you know which room number we are in.

Thank you ever so much. You guys are the greatest. :)

Dearest Jumbo (I just like calling you that :D ), the reason I want to take a cab from Heathrow, even though I know it is expensive, is just peace of mind. We will have flown a 10 1/2 hour flight (on Virgin Atlantic--British all the way this trip) and will be very physically and mentally exhausted. The peace of mind of having a taxi drive us from door to door is worth the money to me. I happen to be TERRIFIED of trying to use the Underground. Ffcforever knows this and has kindly offered to escort my friend and I from our hotel to the London Indigo O2 and back again. I simply do not want to have to figure out which train is which, which train is going which way, etc., and trying to locate the correct tube stop and then locate the hotel after such a grueling journey. We are traveling 8,000 miles and will be dealing with jet lag and such. That's why I was wondering if anyone knows where the taxis come in to the airport to pick up people.

You never said whether or not you will meet us for dinner before the London show. Would LOVE to meet you finally. If so, any ideas regarding a restaurant? I was looking at the restaurants on Entertainment Avenue, inside the O2 and found two that sound interesing. One is called Armadillo (it's pretty inexpensive and funnily enough serves Southern California fare), ALTHOUGH one of the items on the menu is Fish & Chips, which my friend wants to try while we're in England. It also serves one of my favorite cocktails--the Mojito. Another restaurant that sounded nice is called Union Square. It's a little more expensive, but not bad, serves wine only with dinner, and also has Fish & Chips on the menu. You, Stella and Ffcforever need to give me your input on where to meet. You may know of a better choice.

Where are you sitting during the show--did you manage to get a seat or will you be in the downstairs standing area with (hopefully) Stella, and my friend and I? I can't wait. This should be a very fun evening. Yay! :D

Cheri, Just google taxis newport pagnell heathrow. You'll get loads of results and can usually book on line (or phone from the US). I know I'd do the same if I were you.
Here's just one www.british-airport-transfers.co.uk/?gcl..._kj6wCFUNO4QodjVtWLA

Cheri, don't know if I'm reading this right, so can you confirm: arrive London Heathrow, to go to London hotel/ Under the airport is a fast direct train The Heathrow Express to Central; London (Paddington station I think), where many canbs will be waiting to take you to any London hotel.
A cab from Heathrow will cost £100 or so I believe. Train is very efficient. The advice you've been given is pretty sound. And thre cabwill take ages, lots of traffic.
Google "UK pages; Heathrow Express"...
Travel to Newport Pagnell for the Stables show?
Victoria Station at Westminster (great for sightseeing, arrive early and see Parliament, Westminster Cathedral etc), about 50 minutes ride to Newport Pagnell.
It looks like Jumbo and others have got you sorted, hope so. Have a great stay and enjoy what we all reckion will be magic shows - Billy
