I suggested a couple of Dylan tracks a few days ago on the guestbook, and I also like the idea of 'Unchained Melody' which a few people have suggested. 'Because the Night' would be a great cover too, but the best Bruce Springsteen track I can think of is 'Thunder Road' - an acoustic version with Steve's voice would sound amazing.

After reading Steves diary entry of 11/11 and watching the youtube clip, I would like to put forward the song 'The green fields of France' by the Fureys as a contender for his new album cover version. Without doubt a most emotional and moving song. Check it out please.

Kinks songs that I think Steve could cover quite excellently would include "Somebody Stole My Car" (a hidden gem), "Now And Then", "Shangri La" or "I'm Not Like Everybody Else".

And probably many more :cheer:

I'd love to hear Steve cover Marc Bolan's 'Dandy in the Underworld' but I have a strong feeling (maybe wrong of course) that Steve will never do a Bolan song, even though they were great mates.

My suggestions are (hope it's not too late):-
A Rainy night in soho - The Pogues. A beautiful song.
True love ways - Buddy Holly.
I threw it all away - Bob Dylan (the 'Hard Rain' version).
