It's a fine album Another Country by Rod and A Friend For Life brings it to a close perfectly.The first two singles were loud and upbeat, think it's now time for a classic Rod ballad? A Friend For Life would be perfect as a Valentines Day release...

Ive listened to Rods version a couple of times now and cant get into it, i don't think his vocals do the song the justice it deserves.

I agree, Dave M. I thought Rod would hit it out of the park with that voice and emotion he can conjure. But, to me, he doesn't hold a candle to the way Steve sings it. I have NEVER heard anyone cover one of Steve's songs better than he himself can sing it. That's just my opinion, but it's how I feel.
