A fanciful work of FICTION, but inspired by three songs (and a fourth by lateral thinking?)
Two male friends, in the same band.
('Geoff') Soft and ('Jack') Brightside.
The work could be a play, with music or, (my term) 'a shrunken musical'.
A play with music reminded me of when Sash and I saw and heard 'Richard III' with Ian McKellen (circa 1991), I think at The Oxford Playhouse (I still have the brochure, somewhere).
Colin Good (who for a time was the piano and musical director for Roxy Music from 2001, played some really interesting synth accompanying that production - a decade or over later, we caught sight of him, on the other side of the road in Jericho, Oxford, on our way to our favourite restaurant, back in the day...)
Anyway...
In my fanciful plot, there is a woman involved, an American girl - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers come to mind (potentially a fourth song). She could be a Texan or maybe a Bostonian...

Most of the backbone of the characters and the plot arise or are suggested by the first three songs.
The point of this thread was never to tell a whole story. For me though, it demonstrates the potential overlap within the arts and music, as a whole.
