Here is a question about the lyrics of Judy Teen. It has bothered me for a long time now. I like to sing along to Steve's songs and usually try to find the lyrics on the internet, if they are not printed in the CD booklet. Judy Teen is about Steve's, then, American girlfriend, however, everywhere I have found the lyrics to this great song, it quotes the line "In from New York, prompted her to talk, of superballs" Now, If Judy Teen was from the USA, surely the line is "Super Bowls" (as in American Football Cup Finals?) and not "superballs? I mean, "superballs" doesn't really make sense does it? I would be intrested to know what others think ...and maybe Steve himself can clarify?

  • Reassuringly expensive.
For years I couldn't make out the lyrics of this line of the song apart from the very clear. "New York" and "superballs".so thanks for clarifying that.

"In from New York, prompted her to talk of superballs."

Maybe it doesn't make sense but who cares?
Embarrassed to admit that, in the previous line, I've always heard "Purple" and not "Verbal" slang.

I'm not a stickler for poring over lyrics myself.........

Good luck with your quest slyredfox
If you can't say something nice don't say nothing at all.
