Cancellation of February Shows

Steve Harley has been forced to cancel five sold out concerts scheduled for next week, as he has sustained a broken hip. He was taken immediately to hospital last night to be examined by doctors who confirmed the damage and that there is no way that these shows could take place.

Known, of course, for his legendary catalogue of hits, Steve Harley is also famed for his love of touring and live shows, and the cancellation of shows is always a last resort. In this unfortunate instance, the situation was totally outside anyone’s control.

Steve Harley said, “I am distraught, just shattered to have let so many people down.  I need to work on my recovery, which is likely to take at least 12 weeks to be completed. I hope to back out there soon.”

Refunds are available for all ticketholders for the cancelled shows and customers should return to their point of purchase.

The shows affected are as below.  Additionally, there are planned shows in March and April but no decision has yet been taken on their status.  An announcement will be made soon; ticket holders should monitor this website

Wednesday 14 February 2018 - Acapela Studio, Cardiff - Acoustic Trio

Thursday 15 February 2018 - Acapela Studio, Cardiff - Acoustic Trio

Friday 16 February 2018 - Acapela Studio, Cardiff - Acoustic Trio

Saturday 17 February 2018 - Lowther Pavilion, Lytham St Anne’s - Acoustic Trio

The Jo Cox single, featuring Steve

Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel reached number one in 1975 with Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me.) Now, 46 years later, Steve could be about to repeat the feat, this time he hopes to top the Christmas charts for a cause that touched his heart, and those of millions of others across the country.

Following the tragic murder of MP Jo Cox, Steve, along with Kaiser Chiefs’, Ricky Wilson, KT Tunstall and David Gray, formed The Friends of Jo Cox and their new charity single - released tomorrow (Fri Dec 16) - is raising money for causes supported by her.

Here Steve explains why the single is a classic protest song which he hopes could change Britain ...

Welcome to the new website!

So what’s new, and why has it been updated?

You will find much is the same as before, but the software that runs the website simply needed to be brought up to date, not just to take advantage of advances in technology, but also to protect the website from hackers and spammers.

Apart from a fresh new look the website now performs much better on smart-phones and tablets.

The new ‘responsive’ design automatically rearranges the website depending on whether you are on a phone, a tablet or a desktop/laptop.

You can now watch all of the video content on your smartphone and tablet.

You can now login using your Facebook account, which is one less username and password to remember.

Gone are the fiddly “Captcha” forms that were a necessary evil to prevent the website getting clogged up with vile spam, replaced with a simple checkbox to confirm that you’re ‘not a robot’.

Now, when you are logged in, you will see a new menu item, “Your Profile”, which is a quick link to a page where you can update your name, username, password, email address and opt in/out of receiving email updates.

There is also a new “Messaging” menu item for logged in users, which allows you to send private messages to other website members.

The new software behind the website will allow me to add all sort of new features in the future, maybe even a permanent live chat page!

Unfortunately, for the moment the Shop is not open as I still have some more testing to do first.

This is a brand new website, and despite all the vigorous testing I can never simulate what happens when hundreds of people all try and use the site at the same time. So please bear with me if we have some teething troubles.

Please let me know of anything you see that doesn’t seem to be working properly. Please send me a message here: http://www.steveharley.com/contact.html and I'll get the fixes done as quickly as I can.

Kind regards

Andy (webmaster)
