Cockney Rebel rocker Steve Harley: My 'heavy flu' was polio

www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/4412...-heavy-flu-was-polio

Thought this was quite interesting.
Apologies if it cropped up elsewhere and I missed it.

Just last evening :) I was out in the garden bringing In an arm full of washing from the line .when as I walked past the patio doors that leads out to the garden , that very page from the Dailey Express ( page 31 ) suddenly appeared ! pressed against the glass for me to see :) as I stumbled across the patio from the garden.
Needless to say I nearly dropped a pile of socks and pants that were pivoted on top of this arm full! on to the patio in shock !

" where'd you get that ? "
I've yelled through the glass .

" one of the blokes at work gave me it to me in the canteen at lunchtime "
Came the reply .

Deborah's eyes widen and steps closer to the glass to take a closer look .
The header line to the paper reads
Your Health !
Then
Rebel without a pause jumps out of the page
And her hero sporting a BobDylan T shirt worn under an unbuttoned ( very nice ) shirt .

Then Deborah remembers !
papers that come home that are collected up from all the guys in the canteen are purely for one reason ! and one reason only !

Deborah panics as page 31 of the Day Express is slowly removed from the other side of the patio Doors !
Arms full of washing unable to open the door into the house unaided she yells through the glass

Oi!

" don't be using that to light the wood burner "

Seeing the mischievous grin ! Deborah feared the worst

But it really only took just one look ! For the words to quickly follow '

" Would I dear ? "

No.

Not if you knows what's best for your health :P

Dear Mick
A HUGE thankyou for the clipping of SH in Daily Express.
As i was in bed with a flu virus?!.. mum went out to get me a copy, but a day too late. I tried to print out the details from the net....but my ink ran out and i am too ill to go into Leeds to get some more ink at the moment. Nevertheless, I have read the article and am grateful for your kindness in letting others know about it. I doubt many buy newspapers these days.x

Hope you're flu's sorting itself out.

I usually buy the Mail or the Express for the crosswords and puzzles on the commute to and from work (and before anyone starts, no I don't believe some of the rabid rubbish printed in them, or any of the other papers  ).

Just phoned home, and it's still there, so if you or anyone else wants the paper copy before it lands in the recycling let me know.
