Fans' Ideas Needed

Among the new CD tracks, Steve is keen to record a cover version of someone’s else’s song. Just one. But the choice is very wide and difficult to make.
Fans are invited to offer their suggestions. Past covers Steve has released have included “Here Comes The Sun”, which charted in the UK and several European countries in the 70s; the Motown classic, “I Wish It Would Rain,” and Bob Dylan’s “Love Minus Zero – No Limit”.

Some years ago -think it was at Ronnie Scott's in Birmingham but don't quote me- Steve said he wished he had written Unchained Melody then did a few lines of it. Of course nothing comes close to his own lyrics but what he sang was great and would stand up as a cover version in my humble opinion

Thinking about it a bit more we all know Steve's 'Condor Moments' and how they regularly lead to a brilliant rendition of Mr Tambourine Man. I know it's another Dylan classic a la Love Minus Zero - No Limit but let's be fair Steve's version is terrific and would be great on an album in my humble opinion.
Strange that fans often complain about what Steve does in concert being too 'samey' yet are not forthcoming when given chance to suggest something he might consider. For me he could sing Silent Night in Outer Mongolian and make it sound brilliant.

Tricky as I dont know the balance of the album but one or two do spring to mind...
Fav Lennon song: Mind games
U2 With or without you
Bob Marley any really but Redemption Song is great (Not sure it would fit accent though.)
Lonnie Donegan Louisiana sun or Rock island Line (I know but he was my fav singer till Steve came in 1973 it would be great for me to hear him do a Donegan... NOT MOMADM though!!)
I'' continue to think
