joanna: CD`s in car
Like wise ...flick between that and "Psychomodo"... at the moment INCREDIBLE ...fresh everytime, how can that be.?
Ah but thats why we are all hooked.
RINGTONES....... thats what we need here....... availability to get a ringtone..Id like to personalise my new "makes cups of tea..etc phone.
Not sure how or if it could be done...Andy...sound.?
Just a little teaser of " Mr Raffles" intro.. AND it would get a taster of the music "out there" before November. Im new to this techno media and appreciate that it could prove annoying to some ...(only a thought)
The thing is, I would probably not answer as Id be too busy caught up in the music as usual.. and not realise it was my phone!"

Face To Face: Paris
Been a huge fan for many, many years. Now living in Oz. Steve mentioned Paris in his diary which reminded me of "my" honeymoon. English boy meets and falls in love with Aussie girl. Plans to get wed at Haringey Registry Office. Future M-I-L arrives from Adelaide for wedding. No honeymoon planned as saving to go back to Oz. Future M-I-L says she would love to go to Paris. Future S-I-L wants to keep in good books so organises a hotel for them both day after wedding.....Future wife and future M-I-L really looking forward to trip on "my" honeymoon after wedding. They both arrived in Paris, found their hotel and checked in to room. Furnished poorly, red light near window, men leaning on lamp post down below staring up longingly. Oops! No wonder it was cheap. Still married. M-I-L still not talking to me...such is life.

sparrow: Back to the Farm
Have to agree with our Danish friend re Back to the Farm. A brilliant track that I would love to see performed again as well as Black or White which is a totally underplayed and underestimated track in my humble opinion.Looking forward to Birmingham. All the best everyone

iantanner: Feeling Elderly!
Hi Steve, a great diary piece, made me chuckle. I reckon that you must be 'as fit as a fiddle' and I don't blame you for saving a £1. Thanks for this years concerts, looking forward to all things Harley during 2012. Happy New Year
Tuesday, 17 January 2012
Cynwal: Mr
Dear Steve,
I've heard you talk about the reasons for writing "Make me smile". I witnessed the 70's and (perhapse due to being danish) did'nt understand the transformation from Cockney Rebel to Steve Harley and the Cockney Rebel.
However, I fully understand your thoughts.
...but still.., you write/say your self, that "Make me smile" has been your biggest hit! Might have been in the UK / Worldwide, but not with me. I do - by far - prefer either "Sebastian" or perhaps even more:
"Back to the Farm".
Your singing on "Sebastian" made me decide - since the age of 15 - that my further son were to be called "Sebastian". Unfortunately, my future wife did'nt agree, so the agreed upon calling him "Christian"! However, he was removed by cesarean, so I was the first to receive him in my arms - and after 10 seconds I stated: "He is no Sebastian - nor any Christian - he's a Daniel" I cannot explain why - it just came immenently! ...and proved to be right, since it's the perfect name for my son!
My Love for "Back to the Farm" is simply due to the simplicity in you beeing the first, to make a 7/8 pop single close to beeing a hit!
When I heard the number the first time, it stroked a thing/note in me - but I do admit, it took about 10-20 listenings, to acknowledge the affection it had and I had for it (and that You had put in)for the number!
Lots of Love an affection from Denmark. You're a truly great musician, who've earned far more appreciation in "The World History of Music" than you've received so far.
Best Regards
Carsten Lindholm

Hi Steve - happy new year. Symphony hall will be a perfect venue for your show with the orchestra and choir, just been googling it...looks amazing.. Hoping to meet Judy and Mike at that one...been "friends" for a long time, without actually meeting! You bring people together Steve with your great lyrics and cool attitude on stage. That guy at Bilston must just be a plonker.

kathryn_blair: Come to Northern Ireland!
Hey Steve..I only became a fan of yours until recently! Was watching Celebrity Mastermind with my dad and I asked him who you were and why you were famous. He told me that you sing ''Come Up and See Me'' and I knew straight away who you were! Loved that song since I was about 5! I'm 15 now and started to listening to your other songs there! Also discovered you sang 'Phantom of the Opera' - my favourite film! So yeah just wanted to say that you should gig here in Northern Ireland, would love to see you in concert! Preferably not during my GCSE's hehe! Kathryn x

sparrow: German translation Also Happy New Year
My schoolboy German is rusty but the sentence starting 'Bin von Samstag.. translates as From Saturday to monday I travelled 2000km in order to see the band at the Stables. (or something like that)The rest of the translation is pretty accurate though. Well done the translators. What a multi-talented bunch there is on here Unbelievable that I remember so much german since I took O level in 1970 or thereabouts and haven't really done much with it since!!!!
Anyway, just want to take this opportunity to wish Steve, the band, the often overlooked 'backstage staff and of course all you out there a very Harley New Year and look forward to seeing you all again in 2012

RachelPAtoSH: Feb Resort show
Hi - yes, Steve and the full rock band will appear at Warners Resort (Butlins resort) on Saturday, February 25th.
We are waiting for full Box Office details.
We understand there will be two "tribute" acts performing on the same evening. Steve is scheduled to play approx. 75 minutes, mostly hits and big crowd-pleasers. The set will have a definite 70s feel to it. This will be a one-off Resort Weekender performance.

sparrow: Mastermind
How can anyone specialise in the 'Inbetweeners' or the Sopranos? Thought Steve did really well albeit a little nervous. A great effort and hope a few people will google him now they know he is still alive and kicking and touring and recording and producing music that most of today's chart acts can only dream of.
Hope all of you on here have a great New Year and to Steve and the band Thanks for a brilliant 2011.

Hallo, bin wieder zurück in Deutschland.
