gillykee: Hull

It's plain and simple! Hull City Council must allow Mr H and his band to play up to 11.55 pm (it will take 5 minutes for the applause to die down) and then we can all sing "Happy Birthday" as our encore and fitting tribute to a man who has been part of our lives (for the majority of us) for over 40 years. Come on Comeuppance am sure you can arrange it (with Steve's blessing of course) Surely Steve will not be celebrating his birthday in a Travelodge on the A1 lol, would be much better sharing a glass with a few of us in the local Holiday Inn Express.......... in my dreams or maybe I could bid for it for charity? See you all at Hull my Harley friends xx

madmoonlighter: alane

just a short note to say that i had ' a friend for life' played as the exit music at my mums funeral yesterday,as a tribute from my dad to her.the song went down well and was seen as a perfect tribute.needless to say the song takes on an added significance each time i hear it now.

jollyroger: Steves Speed fine

In The Sun today, Steve gets £1,000 fine plus costs and SIX POINTS for speeding on the M25!! OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!No wonder he's miffed. How on earth do the Kent Magistrates justify that sort of punishment?????

sparrow: ANDERSON, HARLEY AND BATT

Just been playing my 12 inch vinyl copy of Whatever You Believe by Anderson, Harley & Batt recorded in Battersea Park on 3/5/88. Was in aid of the ITV Telethon Trust. Not played it for a while but still sounds really great. Anyone else heard it or got a copy? Is always good to here Steve's voice on something unusual like this. Best wishes one and all for 2015

FALLAJ: Face to Face

Felt compelled to write having just listened to the live recording Face to Face twice today. (I was getting myself into the right mood for the concert at the York Barbican on Saturday night.) It is a while since I have listened to that recording and I have got to say it is fantastic. My favourite song of all time Mr. Soft (this got me into Steve Harley's music) is the best version ever of that song. I love that song in all its versions but that live performance is outstanding. The song gives all the great musicians involved the chance to show what they can do. Stuart's heavy drumming,Lindsay's contribution on the percussion, George's funky bass, and the two solo spots by Duncan and Jo shows what great musicians they are. I do not know how Duncan can move his fingers so quick. His solo on Sebastian is also a highlight of the recording. Jo has always been an excellent guitar player and played the solo on Make me smile perfectly.Steve is just a genius and sounds good on that recording. I then thought that the 15 tracks on the LP/CD would not be the full concert set. There is only one song from Timeless Flight, Red is a mean mean colour and I am sure there would have been more. Does anyone know the full track listing for that concert? I unfortunately missed that tour. Is the original recording of the concert still tucked away on a shelf somewhere with the unused recordings intact? It would be great if they could release a full version of that concert. Rock on.

MARTWEB1957: Big Big ASK..

I just posted on the forums as an intro :-) I'll be at York Barbican on the 13th Dec and wondered if it might in some way be possible to get Steve (and band) to sign my original vinyl "The Human Menagerie" album. I first saw Steve & Cockney Rebel at York University some 40 Years ago and bought said album same year :-) Thanx & Regards :-) PS, I couldn't find the York Uni gig on your tour list for 1973/74, but it did happen, supported by Be Bop Deluxe.

Stella Day: MoonWalk 2015. Breast Cancer Charity.

On 16th May next year I will be taking part in the London MoonWalk along with two of my daughters, Jemima and Hannah. We are walking as team dayfamily. This event raises much money each year for this Breast Cancer Charity. It's great fun and mostly women, but also some men, take part in this 26.2 mile walk, at night in highly decorated bras! Rachel and (presumably) Steve have given me permission to leave a link to my everydayhero giving page here on the website which should really help to boost sponsorship. It's easy to donate and no amount is too small (or too big ) and if you're a taxpayer don't forget to "giftaid" your donation. Here's the link below. Please help us raise as much as possible for this disease which effects so many women. Many Thanks. Stella x moonwalklondon2015.everydayhero.com/uk/stelladay

gillykee: Pontardawe

Have supported Steve and the Band for over 40 years now, but never before have I been to a gig without my partner in crime (Christine) or with a member of my family! Took a chance on taking my big Sister and my Daughter, both "Harley Virgins" to coin a phrase, even though they have grown up around my passion. Was moved to tears, not once, but twice, first time when they stood from their seats and shouted "More, more, more" and secondly when my Sister started blubbing at Barry's "Lighthouse" virtuoso, I just stood there beaming with pride, knowing that each would now know why I have continued to follow and support these guys for all these years. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart Steve, Barry and James for your tireless dedication and for making the crowd at the Arts Centre experience a musical feast.

Fibarr: Ropemakers Shoreham

Myself and a group of friends were lucky enough to have front row seats for this gig, 26th October, and it was wonderful. Completely overwhelming, emotional and intimate.Steve performed at his best, stunning vocals such raw emotion and energy. I have to say that I am a little in love with gorgeous Barry, he can make that violin sing and soar. Wonderful all round and can't wait to see them again, hopefully soon. Fiona, Eastbourne

joeboy: glasgow

I do not know how Glasgow brings out the best in steve and the band, nearing 15-16 times I have seen him up here and he never fails to amaze me, last night was the best yet, the rapport with the fans adds something special to the gig and barry and james just adds to this very fine mix, long may it continue, joe, (the other Pimlico boy!!!!)

Glasgow belonged to you Mr H! Stunning vocals and witty tales with all your connections to "this great city" as you put it! , the clarity of the sound was mesmorising. The lighthouse was amazing and could still be there listening to it, the passion of stranger comes to town and the keyboards on riding the waves were top quality.Anytime !!!

Vicky: Mrs

I have been lucky enough to Steve on two occasions this year. At the Symphony Hall in Birmingham in June and yesterday evening at our local cinema and live event venue - The Regal. As has been said many times Steve and his Band of Brothers never disappoints his fans and wider audiences. Two very different concerts but both hugely enjoyable and I never imagined that Steve would be playing just a couple of miles from my home. A very special evening and thanks also to Barry and James for their great accompaniment. So now I will resurrect a few of the less played Steve Harley discs and enjoy them all over again.

gillykee: Bilston

Just arrived home from a very long and stressful drive from Bilston, wet driving conditions were horrendous and saying goodbye to Christine is never easy, but I have to say that it was worth every wet mile as Bilston never ever disappoints, fantastic set list, one of the best and as for Steve, Barry and James.... well, you are 3 very special people who continue tirelessly to entertain us in a very special way. The acoustic set is so intimate and if you have never experienced it, then what are you waiting for! Thanks again guys and oh, Barry, should you read this, please accept my apologies for droning on and on about the Bucket list and Clean Bandit... I can only lay the blame on the quantity of wine consumed and the heady atmosphere of Bilston lol p.s. will cherish my plectrum until my son gets his hands on it!

RachelPAtoSH: Glasgow Wednesday

Sorry about that cancellation. The promoter has reasons, apparently...we are waiting for clarification. The plan might be to consolidate, offering Weds ticket holders seats for the Thursday performance. More when we have it. We just hope no fans will be seriously inconvenienced. Again, sorry to those with tickets, but this is out of our control. RACHEL

Pinky: Acoustic show The Stables

Agree the show on 12th October was great and really enjoyed it. Wished I had taken Steve's story about Mohammed Ali to heart. Steve, if you read these messages, my Mum (who is a cousin of your Mum and was born Ivy Wright (and we share the same great grandmother, Liz Merritt of Albury St)) wants me to pass on her sadness on hearing of your Mum's death. She also sends her best wishes to your Dad and hopes he remembers her and all the good times the family had at the big parties in Albury Street. As is the way of all things, families lose touch, but glad to have seen you in concert.

new cross boy: 3 Man Acoustic show - The Stables

Another fabulous evening at The Stables Milton Keynes on Sunday 12 October with Steve accompanied by Barry and James for a wondrous night's entertainment - great songs, great musicianship, the best lyrics all interspersed with plenty of banter from Steve. The opening to 'Best Years Of Our Lives' when Steve suddenly stopped and said, laughing "What's the opening line to this song?" was priceless. If you are a fan of Steve's usual rock band shows but have never seen one these acoustic shows then go to one soon!

Chris - I have a spare for the Lowry - my mate cannot make it- I cannot find you on Facebook - but if you can send me your address I will send the ticket (pay me at the concert - face value £23) I do not want to arrange to meet and give in person because I have some things going on which may mean I do not get there myself - trying my best to get sorted but would hate to let you down.
