Rachel , it's my daughter's 21st on Dec 13th, and I wonder what chance I might get a photo of her with Steve, her hero? I know it's hard to guarantee, but any hope?

Stella Day: MoonWalk 2015. Breast Cancer Charity.

On 16th May next year I will be taking part in the London MoonWalk along with two of my daughters, Jemima and Hannah. We are walking as team dayfamily. This event raises much money each year for this Breast Cancer Charity. It's great fun and mostly women, but also some men, take part in this 26.2 mile walk, at night in highly decorated bras! Rachel and (presumably) Steve have given me permission to leave a link to my everydayhero giving page here on the website which should really help to boost sponsorship. It's easy to donate and no amount is too small (or too big ) and if you're a taxpayer don't forget to "giftaid" your donation. Here's the link below. Please help us raise as much as possible for this disease which effects so many women. Many Thanks. Stella x

gillykee: Pontardawe

Have supported Steve and the Band for over 40 years now, but never before have I been to a gig without my partner in crime (Christine) or with a member of my family! Took a chance on taking my big Sister and my Daughter, both "Harley Virgins" to coin a phrase, even though they have grown up around my passion. Was moved to tears, not once, but twice, first time when they stood from their seats and shouted "More, more, more" and secondly when my Sister started blubbing at Barry's "Lighthouse" virtuoso, I just stood there beaming with pride, knowing that each would now know why I have continued to follow and support these guys for all these years. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart Steve, Barry and James for your tireless dedication and for making the crowd at the Arts Centre experience a musical feast.

Fibarr: Ropemakers Shoreham

Myself and a group of friends were lucky enough to have front row seats for this gig, 26th October, and it was wonderful. Completely overwhelming, emotional and intimate.Steve performed at his best, stunning vocals such raw emotion and energy. I have to say that I am a little in love with gorgeous Barry, he can make that violin sing and soar. Wonderful all round and can't wait to see them again, hopefully soon. Fiona, Eastbourne

What an amazing concert in Glasgow last night. This was our first Steve Harley concert and will certainly not be our last. Best night for a long time. The atmosphere was so personal with Steve and the guys responding with great delight and enjoyment to the obvious pleasure of the audience. Thank you Dorothy

joeboy: glasgow

I do not know how Glasgow brings out the best in steve and the band, nearing 15-16 times I have seen him up here and he never fails to amaze me, last night was the best yet, the rapport with the fans adds something special to the gig and barry and james just adds to this very fine mix, long may it continue, joe, (the other Pimlico boy!!!!)

Glasgow belonged to you Mr H! Stunning vocals and witty tales with all your connections to "this great city" as you put it! , the clarity of the sound was mesmorising. The lighthouse was amazing and could still be there listening to it, the passion of stranger comes to town and the keyboards on riding the waves were top quality.Anytime !!!

I have been lucky enough to Steve on two occasions this year. At the Symphony Hall in Birmingham in June and yesterday evening at our local cinema and live event venue - The Regal. As has been said many times Steve and his Band of Brothers never disappoints his fans and wider audiences. Two very different concerts but both hugely enjoyable and I never imagined that Steve would be playing just a couple of miles from my home. A very special evening and thanks also to Barry and James for their great accompaniment. So now I will resurrect a few of the less played Steve Harley discs and enjoy them all over again.

gillykee: Bilston

Just arrived home from a very long and stressful drive from Bilston, wet driving conditions were horrendous and saying goodbye to Christine is never easy, but I have to say that it was worth every wet mile as Bilston never ever disappoints, fantastic set list, one of the best and as for Steve, Barry and James.... well, you are 3 very special people who continue tirelessly to entertain us in a very special way. The acoustic set is so intimate and if you have never experienced it, then what are you waiting for! Thanks again guys and oh, Barry, should you read this, please accept my apologies for droning on and on about the Bucket list and Clean Bandit... I can only lay the blame on the quantity of wine consumed and the heady atmosphere of Bilston lol p.s. will cherish my plectrum until my son gets his hands on it!

RachelPAtoSH: Pinky

Many thanks for your kind words, and Steve will be very interested in passing on your best wishes to his dad, but what name? Steve tells me he knows all about the Merritts of Albury Street.

RachelPAtoSH: Glasgow Wednesday

Sorry about that cancellation. The promoter has reasons, apparently...we are waiting for clarification. The plan might be to consolidate, offering Weds ticket holders seats for the Thursday performance. More when we have it. We just hope no fans will be seriously inconvenienced. Again, sorry to those with tickets, but this is out of our control. RACHEL

Pinky: Acoustic show The Stables

Agree the show on 12th October was great and really enjoyed it. Wished I had taken Steve's story about Mohammed Ali to heart. Steve, if you read these messages, my Mum (who is a cousin of your Mum and was born Ivy Wright (and we share the same great grandmother, Liz Merritt of Albury St)) wants me to pass on her sadness on hearing of your Mum's death. She also sends her best wishes to your Dad and hopes he remembers her and all the good times the family had at the big parties in Albury Street. As is the way of all things, families lose touch, but glad to have seen you in concert.

new cross boy: 3 Man Acoustic show - The Stables

Another fabulous evening at The Stables Milton Keynes on Sunday 12 October with Steve accompanied by Barry and James for a wondrous night's entertainment - great songs, great musicianship, the best lyrics all interspersed with plenty of banter from Steve. The opening to 'Best Years Of Our Lives' when Steve suddenly stopped and said, laughing "What's the opening line to this song?" was priceless. If you are a fan of Steve's usual rock band shows but have never seen one these acoustic shows then go to one soon!

Chris - I have a spare for the Lowry - my mate cannot make it- I cannot find you on Facebook - but if you can send me your address I will send the ticket (pay me at the concert - face value £23) I do not want to arrange to meet and give in person because I have some things going on which may mean I do not get there myself - trying my best to get sorted but would hate to let you down.

Munchkin1: Pocklington

You know what, I'm nothing special, I have no particular talent, and I don't stand out in a crowd....but at Pocklington, on Thursday, Steve made me feel soooo, well,.....,a tiny gesture on his part, probably already forgotten, but a moment on stage..(I mean floor...there is no stage there!) , a tiny kiss, that will remain with me for the rest of my life...thank you, Steve, for making me, for that one brief moment, feel like the most special person in the world. But you know, all I said was, I had never met any of my heroes from my younger days, only Harvey Smith, and he swore at me, so I didn't think that really counted!! Thanks again truly are my superstar x

CB: Begging

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any tickets for the Lowry in Manchester on 17.10 that they cannot use. I am in the area that weekend for my Mums funeral and would love to go to the gig but it appears to be sold out. I live in the SW and rarely see Steve visit here. If anyone can help please leave a reply or get in touch via facebook, my site has an owl on the picture. regards Chris

StefanieR: more music

Hello Steve, Hi folks I couldn't "join" for listening on the radio; will the concert be (partly) available somewhere? That would be great! "And now ... to something completely different!" Steve, do you remember the CD (Birmingham)? The accordion is masterly played by Ksenija Sidorova at ZURICH.MINDS: The Wonders of the Accordeon (commentary in English; on YouTube). Best, Stefanie PS: My mom just turned 87 .... then every moment spent with the loved-ones is important.

sebcarroll: Lincoln Anderson

This is the first time that I've checked the website in a couple of weeks and I'm so sad to read of Lincoln's death. Since I first saw Steve live back in 2001 Lincoln was there on the bass. He was a great musician and on the occasions that I was lucky enough to meet him he was kind and always stopped to chat with us after the show. He will be sorely missed and my thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace.

joanna: Busker

Wow.... good news indeed. I hope you suggested more numbers to expand his repertoire !! (as I did to a chappie who played well on keyboard recently in a local hostelry) Well you just have to spread the word

Chris Burley: Busker

I don't visit London often but yesterday I was surprised by the quality off a busker on the circle line. I had my earphones on and was listening to Supertramp when I could hear the vague tune of Make me smile(come up and see me)! I turned to see thee busker with his guitar. Earphones out!! I listened and what a performance he did, I don't usually donate, but on this occasion I did!! Lovely track and its my ringtone to.

BowRose20: Harwick Hall

Steve once again gave a fantastic performance yesterday along with Barry. As usual his set was interspersed with good craic and Riding the Waves was brilliant, it swept over the venue which Steve thought had a "beautiful panorama". Steve asked the audience to sing along as we "hadn't opened our pipes all day", it was another wonderful experience thanks to Steve Harley. Sorry to hear about Lincoln, he'll be missed.

Graeme: Lincon

So sad to learn about the sad death of the wonderful Lincoln Anderson on my return from holiday yesterday. The Cockney Rebel bass man standing in the shadows, pumping out the heart beat of every Harley song will be sadly missed. There will always be a space on the stage at every Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel concert forever Lincoln. Deepest sympathy to his family and his friends and colleagues from Graeme & Margaret Blake

RachelPAtoSH: Diary with Tribute

Steve will post a Diary entry early next week, to include his own tribute to Lincoln Anderson.

new cross boy: Lincoln RIP

So sad to hear of Lincoln's passing. As well as being a great bassist he always came across on stage as being a lovely, quiet, kindly man.

Irisuchan: Re: Holland

Dear Rachel, thank you for your explanation. I'm very glad you wrote Steve has every intention of returning to Holland as soon as possible. I haven't ever attended any of his concerts, especially the very first ones as I wasn't even born yet. ;) So I'm very excited to hopefully see him perform live in NL in the near future! Thank you so much. :) Iris

RachelPAtoSH: Holland

Hi Mona, As I explained some while ago, no Live dates were ever formally agreed for Holland - discussions were held, only. We understand one promoter began selling tickets without a formal agreement or contract. He "jumped the gun", I'm afraid. Probably with the best intentions, but nonetheless too early! Only Live Dates posted here, under Live Dates, will ever be actually confirmed, regardless of what news may be reported elsewhere. I hope this explains the situation and that you aren't too disappointed. Steve has every intention of returning to Holland as soon as possible. RACHEL

joanna: Autumn is awakening

Now, Im not one to wish life away at all but it is beginning to feel as though spring is upon us as the autumn begins. Harley folk are stretching and yawning from the sleepy summer and checking out the routes, beds, eateries for the forthcoming recharge. Now then ... which way is Chester?

Saturday, 30 August 2014

Irisuchan: Hope to see you in NL

Dear Mr. Harley, I was sad to find out that the concert in The Netherlands in October has been cancelled. I hope you will visit my country soon again, so I can hear your music live for the first time. I can't wait! :)
