DREAM COMES TRUE IN UNION CHAPEL - STEVE, A "FRIEND FOR LIFE"

The Union Chapel in Highbury seems a venue made for Steve Harley. Amongst the arches, pillars and directly in front of the pullpit Steve produced what can only be discribed as a blistering performance even by his high standards. With the brilliant accoustics offered by the towering chapel Steves classic songs were raised to even greater heights. The crowd atmosphere matched the occasion met full on by a buoyant Steve clearly loving every minute.
And if this was not enough my own personal dream came true. I have been patiently waiting to hear "A Friend For Life" live as for me and my boyfriend, this has become OUR SONG. As Steve commenced the encore, completely overwhelmed by the occasion I forgot my fear, took my chance and simply shouted out "please play a friend for life!" Fortunately Steve heared me and following I brief negotiation which involved Steve raising 20 Pounds for Children in Need he proceded by saying that "I have never dedicated a song in 36 years but tonight I dedicate this to Nadine!"
My boyfriend and I where completely blown away by this gesture and made our dream come true of having Steve sing our song to us.
Even surrounded by the crowd we felt we were the only two there. It is difficult to find the words to really capture what this meant to us so we simply say "Thanks a million Steve!"

Good Stuff, Steve - oh.
I had a similar plan when I got married. - wanted the 3 peice in the tiny 15th Century church in Catcott, Somerset..Friend for Life would have been enbedded in those 3 foot walls and worm ridden pews for ever.. Fabulous..
I assumed he would be too busy.... - maybe i was wrong...
Toodle loo and
Lots of Love,
Matt B
