Last week, while watching BBC4’s excellent documentary on 10cc, Eric Stewart mentioned 10cc attending one of Paul McCartney’s “Buddy Holly Days’ events (in 1975?) which “everybody in the music business” attended and up popped a photo (at 41:42).

I think that photo includes Steve (in side profile – just to the right of Eric Stewart). Next to Steve may be Yvonne Keeley? What do you think? It is still available on iplayer for a little while.

I think you're right. Certainly looks like Steve circa 1976/77. Well spotted!!

Spot on GedKen! Paul McCartney's company has many a celebration of Buddy Holly and Paul (& Linda) always have (had) a fond word about Steve - there is a picture of Steve standing with Linda in a book about Abbey Road (EMI Studios).
Furthermore, Stuart played drums on one of Paul McCartney's hits No More Lonely Nights, turning up at AIR Studios complete with the Cockney Rebel logo on his drum cases!
