Finally a FYI - The Express ran a piece on it about 4 hours ago. As Clarkson mentions, this episode of Top Gear will be broadcast in America tonight... (even in Montana Cheri ).

It isn't just on iTunes that the song is flying up the chart - Amazon.co.uk currently have it at #15 on the Top 100 Bestsellers, and it is the #1 Best Seller under the Rock category at the moment.

All this talk of Make Me Smile takes me back exactly 40 years ago when on Jan 31st 1975 we saw Steve and the band perform the song on Top of the Pops for the first time. As they say, the rest is history. How could this simple little song turn into such a monster tune?? It did and it's rightly become Steve's 'pension'.
